In this new campaign M·A·C celebrates the bold, impactful power of matte lipstick, aligning the textures with personal style. These three iconic matte lipsticks, Powder Kiss, Classic Matte and Retro Matte Liquid, explore the game-changing effects of each texture, helping customers find their ultimate matte.

What’s Your Thing?

Reclaim M.A.C’s leadership as a modern, community-driven inclusive brand with a big idea built on ‘All races. All ages. All genders’. The original diversity leader and rule breaker of beauty had been overtaken and needed to reclaim leadership amidst a sea of challenger beauty brands playing on diversity and being more inclusive in a socially driven world.

Harnessing M.A.C’s core equity of artistry, we introduced a new concept to the cluttered world of makeup foundation called ‘skin tailoring’. Introduced by lead M.A.C MUA Terry Barber, skin tailoring recognised that today people take a personal approach to achieving the skin look that’s genuinely ‘you’. Four key styles of skin tailoring were identified: Fresh, Dewy, Matte and Full. For each, we brought to life the look, the style and the attitude, and how people could achieve them. Featuring 14 diverse spokespeople defining ‘their thing’, our cast spoke to the breadth of the M.A.C. community in a complete 360 campaign.
